Villa Samudra is an enchanting 7 bedroom property spread out over 2 1/2 acres of untroubled oceanfront land with direct access to a secluded boulder studded sandy beach with year round swimming providing a unique and inspiring vacation experience.
A labour of love and creative expression, Villa Samudra was conceived and built by multi-media artist, an accomplished photographer, cinematographer, and musician, along with his wife, an interior designer of numerous dwellings around the world. They actually camped out on the site for several months before designing the various buildings that make up the villa. Following their wilderness experience they set off on a journey of discovery across Asia, sourcing original materials and adornments in places as diverse as China, Burma, Bali and Southern Thailand. The result is a rich blend of influences that combines natural elegance with comfort and striking antiquity.
The carefully crafted rooms are actually built into the land, but fold open to catch the sea breezes and draw in the astonishing views. Inside, antique Chinese doors and windows, reclaimed teak wood floors, and intricate, carved wood walls transport you back in time, while contemporary comforts such as property wide Wi Fi, and HD audio visual systems provide entertainment, convenience and a continual atmosphere of private privilege.
Meandering pathways flanked by tropical foliage join the various pavilions of the property.
After arriving though the secure gate and up the private driveway, steps lead down to the first pavilion known as the Bali room that is entered through large wooden doors to a hallway with 2 en suite bedrooms located either side (1 has an outdoor bathroom). The hallway then continues down a flight of steps across a small garden area and into an attractive living area furnished with comfy sofas and features a completely open front and antique Bali wall panels to the rear providing a shady retreat to sit and enjoy the stunning views of the ocean and the islands beyond.
In front of the Bali room is the 15m infinity edge swimming pool with natural stone sunken seating flanked with cushioned sun loungers and umbrellas. Adjacent to the swimming pool is a flat lawn area and a shady sala furnished with a hand carved long table which seats up to 24 persons.
Moving further down into the property a gentle path leads down to the beach that due to the intermittent boulders on the sand will ensure privacy. At this level there is a shady sala that can be used as a yoga platform and 3 kayaks are provided for guest use.
Back up at the swimming pool stone steps lead down to a large bedroom suite with terrace and fold back glass doors the whole length of the room opening up to great views of the beach and vista beyond.
A pathway to the left from the Bali Room leads to the kitchen pavilion and then further on to an octagonal open sided living room which is perfect to chill out together and enjoy the stunning views seated on Thai style floor cushions around a stone table, swing in a hammock or relax in the cushioned seating that border the room. A raised platform in one corner houses another fully equipped kitchen for convenience and you can enjoy the cinematic experience with a large pull down projector screen
To the rear of this building separated by a wooden walkway are two bedrooms. The first of these bedrooms is also furnished with a day bed and a dressing room connects it to the bathroom with shower. In addition to it's own entrance the second bedroom also has a connecting door (if required) to the same en-suite as the first bedroom providing a double en-suite or a small hop outside leads to the Bali style open air bathroom with bath which also serves as a guest bathroom for the Octagonal living area.
The final two bedrooms that share a shower room are located above the octagonal pavilion up some stone steps and has a covered terrace furnished with sofas and a separate kitchen for convenience.
The grounds offer incredible adventures for youngsters who can made dens, play hide and seek and explore this exciting environment safely. With long stretches of deserted coast just steps from the villa and kayaks available to explore the nearby sandy bays, staying at Samudra is an inspiring tropical adventure.
For adults the villa offers space, serenity and relaxation only a stone's throw from Kamalaya, Thailand's famous and award winning Wellness Sanctuary and Holistic Spa Resort where you can experience a life-enriching healthy holiday through detox, yoga, stress and burnout therapies, fitness and weight control.
