UPDATED 2ND NOVEMBER 2021
Thailand has now opened with the great news that foreign tourists from all countries are able to enter Thailand after completing the Thailand Pass
Depending on whether visitors are vaccinated or not 3 schemes have been introduced.
TEST & GO
Thailand will open up to vaccinated visitors quarantine free with a scheme paraphrased as Test & Go when arriving internationally from an official list of low risk countries (at present 62 countriies). Visitors are to book & pay for a 1 night stay in a designated "SHA+ property" whilst waiting for the results of the Covid-19 test taken at the airport on arrival. Booking and purchasing a test on arrival can be made by yourself through the website https://www.thailandpsas.com/I The cost is 2,600THB and a receipt is sent immediately by email.
TEST & GO - CHILDREN: Children under 12 are exempt from being vaccinated as will be travelling with vaccinated parents. Children 12 - 18 yrs who have not been fully vaccinated ( 2 shots) will have to join their parents in the Sandbox Programme below. (This is under discussion at the current time).
We feel the majority of our guests will choose to arrive with the 'Exemption from Quarantine Scheme (Test & Go)' andhere is a graphic that may be useful.
SANDBOX PROGRAMME
Fully vaccinated visitors who arrive from other countries that are not on the official low risk country list will enter under a "Sandbox Programme" through Thailand's international airports within 17 "Blue Zones" and will have a mandatory 7 nights stay in a chosen SHA+ hotel before having the freedom to travel elsewhere in Thailand. It may be the case when booking accommodation the hotel/resort/villa will include the test fee (2,800THB pp) in the invoice and arrange this their guest.
(SANDBOX PROGRAMME - CHILDREN: In addition to the above - children who are aged 12 - 18 yrs and not fully vaccinated (2 shots) travelling with vaccinated parents are to join this sandbox scheme and not Test & Go. (This is under discussion at the current time)
ALTERNATIVE QUARANTINE
Visitors who are not vaccinated arriving from all countries will enter under an Alternative Quarantine scheme with a mandatory 10 night stay in an ALQ designated hotel.
For Koh Samui, Koh Phangan & Koh Tao in particular, all three schemes will operate. However, at the present time international arrivals are to transit through Suvarnabhumi airport, Bangkok and the flight from the departure country to Koh Samui needs to be on one ticket otherwise the 1 night SHA+ stay would be in a hotel in Bangkok before travelling on to Koh Samui.
In Koh Samui the following villas have been SHV+ certified where you can check in for your holiday straight from the airport and a hotel booking will not be required.
Villa Acacia, Villa Bougainvillea, Villa Champak, Villa Lotus, Villa Frangipani, Villa Hibiscus, Clay Beach Villas, Tawantok Villa 1, Tawantok Villa 2, Tawantok Beach Villas, Villa Chi Samui, Eranda Chic Pool Villa 1, Eranda Chic Pool Villa 2
We look forward to welcoming our guests arriving at our villas, in Koh Samui or Koh Phangan either directly or following their SHA + hotel stay in other areas of Thailand (ie Bangkok) and we are here if you should need any further information regarding your travels and stay in Thailand.
